Ben's 30 contains 30% Deet in a specially designed water-based formula. Unlike many Deet based repellents, Ben's 30 does not contain alcohol. Alcohol tends to open the pores of one's skin, causing more of the active ingredient (Deet) to be absorbed-not a desirable outcome. Also, alcohol evaporates quickly compared to water which reduces the effective protection period. The Ben's water-based formula provides longer-lasting protection that does not dry out the skin.
