LifeView Outdoors has received a Gold Aurora Award and a Silver Telly Award (their highest honor) for the Prepared to Survive DVD set.

Both of these national competitions are judged by award winning industry professionals. These awards are designed to recognize and honor outstanding local, regional, cable TV and independent productions.

The series received a Silver Award at the 27th Annual Telly Awards in New York City, their highest honor. Prepared to Survive also picked up a Gold Aurora Award.

Being a casual hiker myself, I watched the Prepared to Survive DVD and was impressed with the common sense approach to topics.

I was curious about what my military son and son-in-law would think of the video. They were both surprised at the comprehensive content and agreed with Gretchen Cordy that Prepared to Survive was a more informative tool than most military training films they've watched.

We have long held the view that a person who enters the wilderness with some forethought as to what could go wrong and comes up with possible answers to those situations is much more likely to react with a cool head, thus making survival a lot more likely.
