LifeView Outdoors Receives National Accolades For Survival Video Series Hosted by Gretchen Cordy, Survivor Veteran
NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Prepared to Survive, a DVD set developed by Nashville-based LifeView Outdoors to equip viewers with practical outdoor survival skills, has won two national awards for excellence.
The series received a Silver Award at the 27th Annual Telly Awards in New York City, their highest honor. Prepared to Survive also picked up a Gold Aurora Award.
"We are very excited to have received two such prestigious awards," said Darren Shipley. "It means a lot to us to be recognized by our peers."
The Telly Awards are the premier awards honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs as well as video and film productions. This year's competition attracted a record 13,379 entries from all 50 states and around the world.
The Aurora Awards, now in their 10th year, are an independent film and video competition for commercials, cable programming, documentaries, industrial, instructional and corporate videos.
Prepared to Survive, a two-disc DVD video guide for handling unexpected outdoor crises, was created to benefit everyone, regardless of age or experience, from hunters and casual weekend hikers to seasoned wilderness backpackers. The series offers instructional, step-by-step guidance that will enable viewers to master a wide range of skills, including constructing shelters, building fires, and sending emergency signals.
The series is hosted by Gretchen Cordy, a former Air Force survival instructor and nationally recognized survival expert who is perhaps best known as a veteran of the first Survivor series. Along with Cordy, Prepared to Survive also features renowned wilderness experts Buck Tilton, Rich Johnson and Doug Ritter.
