The dual output circuitry allows you tailor the output to the task at hand. The L2 has an 18 hour, 15 lumen low setting for close-up work and general illumination or a 1 hour, 100 lumen high beam that has over 5 times the light of a big 2-D cell flashlight. Amazingly, the L2 is able to achieve this level of performance using only two 123A lithium batteries. The L2 Lumamax uses a virtually indestructible, power-regulated, light-emitting diode light source plus a two-stage tailcap switch for instant selection of desired output level.
