An acclaimed knife respected by serious outdoorsmen around the world, the Fallkniven A1 is strong, reliable, well engineered and durable. Designed from the start as a survival knife, the A1 is exactly the type of tool you need for tough tasks in the wilderness. The blade’s laminated steel construction has a center layer of tough, hardened VG10 steel, and an outer layer of resilient 420J2 steel. This unique combination delivers both exceptional edge retention and extraordinary strength that’s about 20% stronger than a comparable solid blade.

The drop point design and convex ground edge gives the A1 a strong point and a practical cutting edge suitable for both chopping and cutting. The blade’s tang extends through the handle protecting it from damage when a pommel is needed. A textured Kraton handle provides a sure and comfortable grip with a finger guard. The weatherproof, Zytel sheath secures the knife in place by both friction and a snap loop.

Beyond the technical aspects of the A1, is the feel and superb balance of the knife in your hand. Although a largish knife, the A1 does not feel clumsy or heavy. A slight bulge in the grip along with the thick spine allow your hand and thumb to fall naturally in place when in use. The A1 makes whittling, slicing and chopping all seem unforced and natural. .

The same steadfast performance that has made the A1 a favorite survival knife in military circles also applies in the civilian world. If you want to top off your field equipment with an utterly dependable knife that withstands hard use, look no further.

Black blades are finished with a Teflon Ceracoat 8H coating. This coating provides increased corrosion protection and eliminates unwanted reflections. You should expect the coating to eventually wear away with hard use.
