The Vulcan is a substantial but refined knife available in two sizes. Both incorporate VG-10 blades, Zytel handles and SOG’s kick blade deployment.

 Blade
The blade is made of VG-10 stainless steel, a strong, corrosion resistant metal with excellent edge holding properties. The Vulcan’s blade is 3.5 inches long, .160 thick and has an Rc of 59-60. The Mini Vulcan’s blade is 3.0 inches long, .125 thick and has an Rc of 59-60. Slightly recurved, the blade is tapered along the spine from just past the thumbstuds to the point and has a satin polish finish.

Handle
The handle is built of glass reinforced Zytel encasing a stainless steel liner. Finger scallops and deep checkering assure a secure grip. Sog’s proven Arc-Lock blade locking system has been tested to withstand 1000 pounds of force and is self-adjusting for optimum performance. The Arc-Lock spring action also provides just enough force to keep the blade in the closed position without impeding a swift deployment.

Important Details
One of the most distinctive features is SOG’s new kick blade deployment. A press on the finger lever swiftly swings the blade out in one smooth motion. Dual thumbstuds provide an additional ambidextrous deployment option. The low carry pocket clip is reversible and allows the knife to discreetly ride just below the top edge of your pocket. A lanyard hole is located in the usual position.
