The SP8 is a unique and forceful tool. Not exactly a knife and much stronger than a traditional machete, the SP8 fills an in-between niche for the serious trailblazer. Made of 1095 carbon steel, the full-tang blade is epoxy coated for corrosion resistance and comes ground with a utility edge. With a blade thickness of ¼”, a width of nearly 2” and the distinctive flat point, the SP8 is an effective tool for prying, digging, light chopping and a host of other tasks. The sawback is useful for notching wood, an aid when lashing and improvising supports in the field.

The grooved Kraton handle provides a comfortable grip, an important component for a tool of this size. A wrist lanyard is included along with a combination leather/cordura side-opening sheath. Not a tool for the faint at heart, the Spec Plus SP8 is the ideal device to have when you need extra leverage and strength to get the job done.
