The Silva Explorer is a moderately priced compass that has all the features most outdoorsmen will ever need. The Explorer has been proven accurate in temperatures from –40F to 140F. It features a lifetime magnetized, tungsten steel needle mounted to a friction-free sapphire bearing.

The Explorer is liquid-filled with a permanently clear anti-static liquid. The ergonomic base is made from clear, scratch, resistant acrylic and features inch and 1/10 mile direct reading scales that meet U.S.G.S. standards. 1:24,000 and 1:62,500 direct reading scales allow accurate plotting. The 2° dial graduations and built-in magnifier help you read map details. A declination scale allows you to make quick adjustments of map bearings to field headings.
