Well conceived, the SL 3 has many thoughtful features. The knife has a stainless steel 3” blade (2.5” edge length) with a special vee notch for use with the firesteel. The blade can be opened with one hand and locks securely in place with a liner lock. A genuine Swedish firesteel is held in place by two snug fitting o-rings creating a watertight seal. The firesteel in combination with the blade’s notch will produce a shower of 2500-degree sparks. The built-in whistle generates a piercing, 112 db sound when blown. The Zytel handle has a provision for a lanyard.
