Each produces a shower of hot sparks (5,500 degrees) that will ignite your tinder, stove or lantern. Swedish FireSteel will work when wet and at any altitude. Includes a 6 inch lanyard and striker.

Originally developed for the Swedish military, Swedish Firesteel has proven to be a dependable tool for firestarting and has been adopted by a number of military organizations around the world.

The Mini model is available in orange, weighs .5 oz., is 3 inches long and is rated for approximately 1500 uses.

The Scout model is available in red, weighs 1 oz., is 3 inches long and is rated for approximately 3000 uses.

The Army model is available in black, weighs 2 oz., is 3 3/4 inches long and is rated for approximately 12,000 uses.

Swedish Fire steel has a clear protective coating on the metal to prevent corrosion. Simply use the striker to scrape off this coating before first use.
