The Ten Essentials Leader Round Trip is a unique kit that combines first aid supplies with essential emergency and survival gear. Based on the ten essentials list that the National Park Service recommends, the kit contains five of the ten items listed. This includes a first-aid kit, a waterproof fire starter, rain protection/shelter, a whistle and a compass. (The other 5 items are extra food, drinking water, sunglasses & sunscreen, pocket knife and flashlight.) Extensive instruction is provided by the book: A Comprehensive Guide to Wilderness and Travel Medicine.
The kit is contained in bright yellow case with reflective striping and an outer map window.
