A whistle is an important signaling tool that everyone should have in the wilderness and, for that matter, in the city and suburbs as well. They are particularly important for children who sometimes are prone to wander away.
The AMK Rescue Howler was originally developed for the Pocket Survival Pak. The kit needed an ultra-light whistle that is extremely loud and totally reliable. The Rescue Howler is the final result of these requirements and proved so popular that Adventure Medical Kits decided to offer them a la carte.

The Rescue Howler is a three-chamber, triple frequency whistle with the highest decibel level of any slim style whistle. It is made of a tough ABS polymer in bright yellow so that it is easily spotted if dropped.
The Rescue Howler is pealess, which makes it totally reliable. If it has been immersed, you can simply blow free any water that might remain and it has no chamber to collect water that could freeze. These whistles exceed SOLAS and U.S. Coast Guard specifications.
