A safe and effective way to disinfect water, Aquamira purifier tablets are an important item for even the most casual hiker to keep at hand. When used as directed, the tablets kill bacteria, viruses, Giardia and Cryptosporidium and are exceedingly easy to use. Just drop in one tablet per liter of water and wait the prescribed time. Not only do the tablets make the water safe from pathogens, they actually improve the taste, unlike iodine-based products.
Chlorine dioxide, a proven disinfectant, is created when the tablets are dropped into the water. Actually a gas, the chlorine dioxide starts an oxidation process in the water dooming any microbes present. You will need to wait at least thirty minutes after dosing the water to kill most microbes and four hours to kill Cryptosporidium. Crypto cysts are tough little critters and require longer treatment times.

Conveniently packaged in a re-sealable storage pouch, each tablet is individually enclosed in a tough foil wrap. The heavy-duty, child resistant foil makes sure that each tablet remains safe and potent when you need it. Make sure to have a knife or scissors handy to open the package.
