The MSR Sweetwater Microfilter is a lightweight, easy-to-use .2 micron water filter. Since it pumps on both up and down strokes, it delivers 1.25 liters of treated water per minute. And a quick brushing will restore a clogged filter.
The Sweetwater Microfilter eliminates over 99.9999% of all waterborne bacteria and 99.9% of common protozoan parasites, such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium.

Weighing only 11 oz., the Sweetwater Microfilter is one of the lightest and most compact filters available. The handle folds flat for easy packing but when extended, its lever action offers a 4-to-1 mechanical advantage and provides bi-directional pumping, making this filter easier and faster to use than most. If the filter becomes clogged, water will stream from the pressure relief valve. To clean, remove the filter, use the brush to clean the filter cartridge, rinse and replace. The Sweetwater has a filter replacement safety indicator imbedded inside the filter material. After repeated cleanings, this screen-like layer becomes visible so you know when it’s time to replace your filter cartridge.
Also included with the filter is an 80-micron stainless-steel prefilter, two color-coded silicone hoses, foam float, water bottle adapter, cleaning brush, and a carry bag. For protection against viruses and bacteria, you’ll want to treat your filtered water with MSR Purifier Solution.
