ACR SARLink and AquaLink PLBs

The ACR SARLink and AquaLink are advanced personal locator beacons with multiple methods of alerting and relaying your position to rescuers. When the unit is activated, a signal is transmitted to an array of satellites, thus alerting search and rescue that you are in need of help. The signal contains GPS coordinates of your position allowing help to arrive swiftly. In addition to the GPS information, the SARLink and AquaLink continually transmit a 406 MHz and a 121.5 MHz homing signal, providing an additional beacon to your location. Both models also have visual signaling with a built-in LED strobe, making your exact location more visible.

Small enough to be carried easily, the SARLink is 2.3” x 5.8” x 1.25” and weighs only 8.9 oz. The AquaLink is slightly thicker at 2.3” x 5.8” x 1.45” and heavier (9.2 oz) because it is designed to float, but is otherwise identical to the SARLink. Neither model requires an annual subscription. Designed and tested for active use in the outdoors, these PLBs are rated waterproof for one hour at 16 feet and can be operated with one hand. A self-test feature lets you know that the internal circuitry, battery voltage and 406 MHz transmission is fully functional. Additionally, the GPS acquisition test lets you test GPS functionality up to 12 times over the life of the battery.

Be sure that you register your PLB. It’s fast, easy, free and gives rescue authorities important information about you and your trip in case the PLB is activated. PLBs are for emergency use only. That is after other methods of self-rescue have been exhausted and there is grave danger of bodily injury.
